I'm testing the water on this and very much expect myself to "see the light" and remove this advert soon but......
with a very heavy heart I'm concidering swapping my viva estate td for something van like.
ok my viva.. well firstly its prob best to look at my build thread (should be linked in my sig bottom of this page)
ok basically its recently mot'd and is of coarse free tax.
it does over 100mph but returns high 50's to the gallon.
it handles very well too.
but looks rough..
bad bits.
its a few colours i got it when the orig colour was spray canned over in first matt black and then silver. since ive hand painted it in nato green..
now the roof and windscreen surround is again rollered in enamel (ford tractor grey)
its been flatted after 3 coats just need a polish.
osf wing is fibre glass and needs painting.
nsf wing is very poor shape but i have matching grp one for it to go on.
front valence is poor but is cut away in places for clearence and tbh doesnt need to be there really as it has a grp spoilered valence fitted over the top.
bonnet is poor but a new grp single skin one is provided ready to fit.
exhaust is a temporary job so will touch the biggest of speed bumps having said that its been on there for 4 years..
rear valence inner and outer is shot but easy to make and fit (was my next job)
rear side quarter corners are poor and odd shapes but new old stock ones are here ready to fit.
has verious squeeks here and there.
the gearbox is noisey but always has been i always intended to rebuid it but too busy driving it still works without fault. (5 speed manta box)
engine is almost dead. having said that it drives very well and doesnt smoke other than initial start up after being left for a few days..
ok that seams all terrible but i promise its not all bad there has been a huge amount of upgrades and it far from std.
rear axle is a rebearingd magnum 2.3 axle so a lot stronger than std 1256 one.
new rear brakes around 2 years ago.
new/rebuilt from calipers from a capri (same size as firenza hpf but metric) with recent pads (and spare green stuff ones) new master cylinder rebuilt servo and goodridge hoses on front.
front suspension fully rebuilt with poly bushes throughout and all powdercoated (under the grime) newley rebuilt rack. custom uj to replace std "rag joint" rubbere coloumb coupling.
custom 50mm lower hpf springs all round with custom alloy (removable)spacers on the rear.
gaz adjustable front shock absorbers.
custom rosejointed short shift gear linkage with replacable stick.
sports stering wheel.
prelude toombstone seats fitted to the front.
good almost new carpet fitted (needs clips tp hold in place never done)
floorpans rustkilled and zinc primed and block painted recently with dynomat copy sound deadening fitted in front floorpans bulkhead and tunnel.
new remanufactured screenrubber recently fitted and screen surround derusted and painted prior to fitting (no leaks)
2 extra gauges in rh fresh air vent to show boost and egt.
custom escort handbrake linkage/cable conversion (works loads better)
mk1 escort square headlights fitted (new with halogen bulbs) and front lights relayed (yes they work very well!)
custom one off 15 inch wheels all round. they were almost new crager soft D hole steels in 15x8 with -20mm offsett (outwards)
custom adjustable rosejointed front radius rods (adjustable for caster and antidive)
1.7 isuzu turbo diesel engine from a cavalier running a saab t25 garret turbo on custom stainless tube manifold. modded inlet and custom intercooler.
running 1.5bar of boost with fuel pump adjusted and custom boost pin..
std manta getrag 5 speed gearbox with hybrid carlton 1800/diesel clutch.
later 2 wire alternator.
there is prob a milloin things ive forgotton about it both good and bad
basically its usable daily goes pretty well with approx 125hp and 190ftlb torque
its need bits doing to its and will never be a showcar but its got hundreds of hours spent on it and is great fun..
best way is to view it and drive it (remembering you will need another engine asap the big ends are very worn..)
its up for swaps for a van must be rwd. And nothing too new.. about Vito sized is ideal or a pickup.. why...
price wise yes i will sell it (was going to be a keeper but needs must) i have no idea what its worth prob a lot more broken than as a whole realistically but i dunno just offer..
and again i really don't want to let this go i LOVE THIS CAR hugely but its either buy a s/h engine and convert to auto or shortcut that by getting something else plus I'm skint so..........
any questions just ask will get some pics up asap..
