	OK, so I am pretty 'au fait' with the wobble-strut MacP set up as used by Ford from 1950 and everyone else from the seventies... But I don't quite understand what goes on with the suspension on the Rootes lovelies that I have been partial to of late. Is this 'lever arm'? And if the springs are so short and not having a shock through the middle, do I just chop them down as per a MacP set-up? Or is it a bit more involved than that? FANKOO P.Weasel.

	I'm not familiar with the Superminx set up (yet!) but my old Rapier (and I presume the whole series minx ranges) had a spring with the shock in the centre of it mounted between wishone and inner wing/crossmember. To lower simply insert shorter spring. To lower lots and have functioning damping a shorter shock is probably a good idea. A lever arm set up is where you don't have a tubular shock but one that is kind of cube shaped, mounted to the car and the top "wishbone" of the suspension also acts as the shock arm. Sorry that's a really curse word description so here's a picture. The ringed object is the shock. Again, a short spring is the way forward
