I've the skills, equipment and materials to draw up on a cad program some stripes. I don't have paints, brushes and a steady hand to apply them the traditional way. Will my efforts make people think; A) Nice effort at a 21st century take on an old custom theme or B) Chav curse word whose watched too much Pimp my Ride and gone out to buy some stickers at halfords? These are stripes i've designed not bought or downloaded so they are mine, although this probably wont be obvious to most. I'm pretty sure i'm going to keep these and add a few more, just wondered what folks thought. They are red to go with the red band tyres, but i might fill then in a little with some blue to complement the interior.

looks good to me (the design)
However I suspect a lot of people will think (b) from your options.
However I suspect a larger number of people will not notice or care.
I suspect you might be able to do a nice little line in designing and selling one-offs for people.

Nicely done, but;
Stickers = not as good as 1shot
1shot = much better than stickers...

I like them. At the end of the day who cares what people think if stickers. If you like it, do it.

To be honest I actually have a rather unhelpful neutral opinion about that design, I don't think it really improves what is a fine looking motor but on the other hand I don't think it detracts from it any way, if I bought the car and it was there I wouldn`t get rid of it. If you like it, do it.

Positive: looks pretty cool, i like the idea of it, bringing an old idea up to date and all that, on a relatively new custom. Deffo add another colour in there though.
Negative: Havin been stripin myself for a while, it aint got no soul baby! giving me a bit of a feeling of plastic wheel trims instead of alloys, vinyl flames instead of painted ones. It's OK but not really the real deal as it were. You'd probably be shunned if it was on an old rod or custom but you can pull it off on the merc.
Overall, neutral for me. If you want it done "properly", get ya car to bedford and i can do that design for nothin'
purely so i can horn over the car, rims look spot on. gnarr gnarr froth froth...

I think the merc look quality, who cares if its stickers or painted on? I don't! Plus its only chavy if you are a chav and you own a 1.0 12v corsa with a 3.0 V6 turbo badge on the back

as a thought, if you can design them can you not design the image so that the design is cut out to make a template? Then you have a template - you can then spray/brush against the template, remove the template, and you will be left with the correct image but painted and not stickers

But if i wanted something pinstriped id use the abilities i do have to make something work as best i could. If a template can be made, it seems like a good solution to me. The bug has a thread in the readers rides section somewhere. I'm hoping to be able to get back on the car soon so it can be finished off during the summer months

Not into it myself in any form, but its a good idea as you say for the 21st century, but as for the red bands they look awesome!

I like it I was originally going to paint the corsa tailgate black and have pinstriping around the number plate recess, stick-on ones could be an interesting angle for me ;D

Problem with a template like that is that unless you are 'striping' a flat surface, the template will distort and you pinstriping will look RUBBARSH.

Tried to get this up sooner, There's some on the front too. Saw a guy a wheels demoning a pinstriping roller, looked pretty swish. Has anybody got any experience of these. Or should I order some brushes and coach enamel and practice practice practice!! I could have a look at doing something simmilar if anybody is interested. Can't promise to get round to it very quickly though.
