Sadly I have been unable to finish this car, as my time has been taken up building the garage it now sits in, and I now have a new BMW drift car to spend more time and money on, so this is surplus to requirements. A great shame, as I was looking forward to driving it :-(
I bought it from a chap in Bath on this forum, about 18 months ago.
1979 mk1 Ford Fiesta 'L'
No tax or mot
Chopped springs, Spax adjustable shocks on rear and mk2 xr2 front
XR2 front brakes
XR2 drivers side driveshaft, std 1100 passenger side. This gives it a slightly wider track.
Crossmember/gearbox mount modified, longer bolts / spacers. I'm using the standard 4 speed manual gearbox with a new 1.8l Escort clutch and a used 1.8l flywheel mated to the 2l (blacktop) Zetec engine. The engine was bought as a package earlier this year with the Jenvey throttle bodies / Omex ECU. It was bought new by its previous owner (!), and raced for 3 seasons of hotrod racing, before being replaced with a 3l V6 from a Jag. I paid £1600 for it, the only thing that is missing from it is a throttle position sensor. The ECU is brand new.
In the boot is a lift pump, swirl pot, filter, inline pump and a whole lot of fuel line from Burton Power, all of which is brand new.
The engine is in there, mounted to the crossmember and the driveshafts are on. The clutch cable and gear shifter are connected. But I haven't been able to get any further with it, due to lack of time and motivation.
All arches rolled and pulled before painting
Porsche 924 14" tarantula alloys in milk chocolate brown paint
Rear wiper and ariel removed
Chrome skinny early bumpers
Flocked dashboard. Disappointingly this has split over the top. I paid over £150 for this, very disappointing :-(
Flocked doorcard pockets and handles, black vinyl door cards. These look really good :-)
Flocked centre console with original clock
Mountney steering wheel and pool ball gear knob, although this has faded in the sunlight.
I've also got a subtle fibreglass vent that I was going to put in the bonnet near to where the inlet trumpets are. This is also brand new.
It needs a TPS, engine mount making, radiator (std and a Puma 1.7 item included), alternator (2 included), exhaust (std included), wiring, FPR and fuel return pipe to the tank, a new windscreen and an MOT. Basically. Obviously the list is longer than that, but those are the basics.
I'd like £1850 or very near offer for everything.
The engine + Omex/Jenvey parts is worth £1600
You're basically buying the engine/clutch/flywheel/throttle body kit/ECU/fuel system - and the rest of the car is free, lol!
I'll get photos of how it is now, the engine, the interior, there's a patch of rust on the drivers wing (where the aerial was removed I think), the fuel system, and everything you get with it as soon as I can
Gutted to do it, but needs must.
