Another way of getting a nut to a bolt you can only get one finger to is use a thin screwdriver Slide the nut up the screwdriver shaft and hold it, put tip of screwdriver onto end of bolt, and release the nut/let it slide down, then gently get it started with your finger

using rain repellant (like rainx) on the inside and outside of windows on older cars reduces the time they take to clear in a morning if misted up Ace, I'm going to try that! Rain-X themselves sell an 'anti-fog' product for the inside of windscreens (and indeed, helmet visors). It's basically just Rain-X but with a slightly different formula, so no reason why Rain-X won't do 99% of the same job.

^^^ Yep, just discovered that and ordered some. Ever since Autoglass replaced the windscreen in the Leon, it's always, always foggy. Hopefully this'll be the answer...

A marigold glove with the tops of the fingers cut off makes a great dizzy rain protector for the old mini and a series engine Saves anytime it rains you breaking down due to dizzy not working due to being soaked , sure most mini owners have experienced this out in the rain

A piece of rubber/plastic hose is useful for slipping over spark plugs, easy way then to tighten by hand into positon.
Chocolates and flowers ... useful when wife catches you washing SU carbs and cylinder heads in the dishwasher ......
