Finally time to sell my engine as I want to upgrade!
Spec is: 711M lightened and balanced bottom end with 1300 +.090” pocketed pistons to give 1699cc.
Big valve ported cylinder head valves are 41 and 34mm. Steel rocker posts, std ratio.
Kent Cams 244 rally cam and “new style” followers.
Vernier Duplex timing chain and modified front cover to allow access to Vernier without removal.
Rear bowl sump with adaptor for oil temp gauge.
Std flywheel with HD clutch to fit type 9 Sierra gearbox (1”x23 spline).
Lucas distributor with 90 degree cap, Lumenition chopper and eye fitted, magnecor KV85 leads, new clamp.
Pair of Dellorto 40 DHLA carbs, pipercross full radius short rampipes, Magard twin cable linkage kit, fitted with Misab plates and rubber mounts to the matching manifold. These are jetted to match this engine and help make this a great, flexible, powerful, easy to drive engine.
Racetech oil pressure and temperature gauge (fits adaptors in sump and block).
Also includes: alternator 70 amp, starter, dipstick, steel rocker cover, Lumenition power module, HP oil pump, oil pressure take-off, alloy block breather, water pump, Fiesta type thermostat housing with switch, steel front pulley. Plus any other spares or service items I can find.
Engine mounts to suit Chevette.
Baseplate and alloy airbox for 3” cold air feed (Pipercross origin but needs one tag re-welding)
This engine has just been removed from my Autocross Chevette, and has been started and warmed up regularly over the past 3-4 years since I last raced.
The engine (less carbs / gauge / mounts / airbox) is now on ebay with no reserve.
Looking for offers in the region of £900 as it would cost at least half that again to build this from scratch.
Collect only from Cheshunt, Herts. 5 mins from junction 25 of M25.
Any questions or comments welcome.
