my other half got a st182 manual a year and a half ago now. Been in daily use and replaced a mk3 1.4 Golf, and the fuel use is only about a fiver more for the 250-300miles per week she does in it They are getting a bit of tin worm in awkward places, and some parts are expensive to get hold of. But otherwise a bloody reliable car and cheap to run as well! And goes pretty well for a nearly 20yo car. Cant vouch for the autos though :/

A mate, Al, has a k reg convertable which is a 2.0 auto.only thing its needed is a bit of TLC on the bodywork. I've been close to getting one a couple of times.

I've got an ST185 GT4, it's pretty good. The fuel consumption on that is excellent, only 10 litres/100km (28mpg UK), which is as good as my 1.3 litre Suzuki Sierra! Despite the lack of a turbo and 4wd, I wouldn't expect the auto to be any better than that, if anything it's probably a bit worse.
