Corsa B with a 1.4 Ecotec engine.
Won't start, but it's got a good spark and petrol is flowing from the injection pump.
Any ideas? Could it be the crank sensor? Or does the ECU need a signal from the crank before sparking and pumping fuel, which would mean the crank sensor is fine (see above!)
Any other ideas? Or should I just weigh it in?

Is the pump running while cranking? If so it suggests that ECU does know the engine is turning. Are the injectors clicking/plugs getting wet?
Good luck!
Nick
PS Plan B, weigh in but keep the electric column gubbins.....

Plan B sounds better all the time, but it's got a pump type steering!
Bloody car, can't even have the decency to be worth something as scrap!
I've pulled the feed pipe to the injection and petrol is flowing, it's got one of those injector systems that like a carb.

Ah !! single point injection that'll probably be the problem they use a large enough injector to keep up with demand at full throttle but that makes idle and part throttle hard to control, the injector usually dumps to much fuel in and even dribbles constantly in some cases, check the TPS ok as that can cause a perminatly open injector ?

Well, got it started.
Poured some neat fuel down the single point injection thing and it fired and run.
Tried unplugging the TPS, likewise the Idle valve was unplugged and neither made any difference to the engines running!
Ordered these 2 bits, £15 so I'll take a gamble.
2 hours later, thought I'd just see if it would re-start, it did and went straight to max revs!
F**king heap of s**t! Never owned a Vauxhall that's been any good!
Onwards and upwards (possibly!)

New TPS and idle valve fitted, seemed OK for a day or 2.
But now cutting out again as the car slows to a stop and this morning it started, went 20 yards, stalled and wouldn't re-start.
Any thing else, before I give up and ring the scrap-man?
Thanks

Thanks for the bump, but too late, now scrapped!
No point in trying to MOT a car that may not make it back from the MOT station!
