So I've got a thing for JDM vans which has lead me to buy this.... Yes a Hiace with a few added extra's It's a 1994, 8 seater with a 2.0 petrol as opposed to a diesel with an auto box - so a cruiser!! It's got this mental bodykit fitted to it, 10x19's on the front and 12x19's on the rear on super stretched, but totally knackered tyres! The reason for them being super stretched? It's on Airbags baby!! Ok so the front's are off it at the minute as the one is split but no biggie, one of the jobs to put right on her. The gel coat needs attention in places and generally the paint work needs tidying up, the side door needs modifying to get it to close properly as well but all in good time. Not sure whether to opt for a change of colour, so feel free to chip in your oppinions!! The plan is to get her tidied up and on the road for the new year. Wanna just use it for fun and come down to the Gathering next year I'll post some progress picture's as they happen, but for now hope you like....

I'm pretty sure there's some full-on vanning-zoku Hiaces in the UK, so yours probably isn't the maddest. In fact, in the world of modded Hiaces yours is actually a bit tame.
I suspect some further taming would result in a rather splendid vehicle - although it is pretty smart as is.

Thanks for all the comments! I don't know what light and grille set up they've used on it, deffo not standard though. didn't know whether to loose the bumpers and go a euro/jdm theme? Just such a crazy motor it's deciding a route to take!

Id be tempted to keep the bumper, but chop the shelf out of it's depth. Would give you a jdm bumper with a nod at euro, if that makes any sense lol.

I like the bumper, it suits the overall look pretty well. This is a cool van! It'll be interesting to see where it goes form here. Do you know where it was built or any story behind it?

Cool van. It'll be interesting to see what you do.
As said though, by no means the maddest. Theres a pink one with mech wings on the roof floating about.

Ok now begining to think maybe not so mad then!! To be fair i don't know any history or story behind the build of the van, whoever did it spent a cackload of money and time. The bodywork alone must have hundreds of man hours in it, then there's the air ride set up, the rims and the custom front panel. The front bumper weighs an absolute ton, must be reinforced with metal or something! It does stick out a lot to be honest and have considered getting the overhang reduced but where would you start? The lambo style side door needs tweaking for it to close properly as I'm not over happy with it but these are silly niggles. Just sourced replacement front bags, so when they come I can fit them and have a fully working air ride system Then it will be replacing the tyre's as they are mullered, then the exhaust as that battered also!!
