still looking at this cavalier
any one got working knowledge / ownership with the 1.7 diesel isuzu engine
seems to be good on mpg

Engine is regarded as a decent unit. Pretty reliable with good mpg.
As said rust will be biggest issue. Arches and sills which will be easy to spot but have a good look at chassis legs at rear axle / spring mounts.
Spares are also easy to come by.
