Yeap it's an AZ1... Awesome little Kei car, 660cc and the usual 65 odd hp of pure thrills. Or something. I'd drive one though

yeah AZ1, i think I'm right in saying it ran the suzuki three pot turbo 660cc engine from the alto works rs / rsr?? They did a couple of other prototype versions from the factory - then there was this, which started out life as an AZ1 and ended up as the crazzzzzzzy greddy6 race car - J

OMG, do they all open up in such a silly way? I'm very taken with the little blue/black thing anyway.

WHOOP WHOOP KEI ALERT!
No they don't open up that way stock, unfortunately.
The AZ-1 is the main car of Mazda's temporary "Autozam" brand they used for weird interesting sporty cars. You can also get a rarer Suzuki badged version called the Cara. Neither released in UK but a very limited amount floating about.
They use the F6A engine from the Suzuki Cappuccino and Alto Works, 659cc DOHC 3 cyl turbo. Nice engine as Keis go, decent mods for it too. Wouldn't take much bother to get one up to 100hp, some money would get you to 150hp, anything more would involve hugely laggy turbos!
Cool cars though.

Love the black prototypes on steelies. Drive an AZ1 for yourself (kinda) it features in Gran Turismo 2 on the old PS1.

Sorry fella, going OT a bit but I need to know more from someone like you who`s actually there, I`m fascinated by car sales in other countries, especially the Far East and theres a lot of made up stuff on the net. Do you get dodgy garages selling tarted up old rubbish? Are there old bangers kicking around over there or is the MOT equivalent too strict for them to survive? Or is everything as squeaky mint as I have been led to believe it is?
