;)If this is too off-topic then feel free to remove/delete. Us old married men often moan about our partners, but today I was reminded just how cool my wife is! She's had a Skoda badge tatooed on her arm! I'm not really into tatoos, but that is the coolest tatoo ever. I'll get a pic as soon as I've found my camera which has dissapeared. Anybody else lucky enough to have partners as cool and into cars as mine? The yellow Mk1 Rapid that is being restored as we speak is hers BTW!

Yep, my wife talked me into my Charger and the Sceptre. The sceptre is now being built as her daily driver to the spec she wants, black with green metalflake roof and flames, zebra skin carpet and holbay engine. Oh, and she just had a flame tattoo done too.

My wifes mate had her boyfriends name tattooed on her, dopey cow. Since they split up she's had to go out with three Daves in a row.

Kims pretty cool, spent the last few weekends trawling charity shops for retro camping tat and today we stopped every 5 mins to take another picture for the retro spot-a-thon. Next weekend, three of the four days contain a motoring theme too

I think my other half's pretty cool.
I work 12hour shifts and on most of the days I'm not in work, I am on the other side of the city at my workshop working on my two project cars (Toyota 1000 and non-retro GTi-R).
She never complains, and keeps asking when the GTi-R will be MOT'd because she wants it to be our daily driver again.

I think you both have to have a car interest for it to work, though my boyfriend is jealous of me coming on here with all you studs, bless.

SWMBO has absolutely no interest in cars whatsoever, and views my obsession with them with an air of bemusement and resignation.
But what makes her so damned special is that she NEVER stops me doing whatever I want to do, I never have to resort to plea-bargaining to get out to a show, and she has no influence whatsoever on what fills our drive. All she asks is that I waste my own money, and I don't own more cars than we have drive space for.
I appreciate I've got it pretty easy- she earns approaching 3x what I do, and we've no kids- but she's an absolute f'kin diamond. :-)

All she asks is that I waste my own money, and I don't own more cars than we have drive space for. Nearly "Snap"........ But mine does have an interest in cars and a fair bit of knowledge too - She does have a big say in 2 of the fleet the daily driver and the weekend mile muncher but other than that as long as there is always room to park them on the drive she's OK about it all. She does however hate the Monza with a passion but I put that down to the fact that 4 years ago I took her shopping in it and we came back on an AA recovery van..... It would been OK if she'd got to the shops but we didn't quite make it - I think thats why she hates it...... not the fact it's noisy, has a hard/harsh ride, is hard to get in and out off, has "complicated" seatbelts, no carpet, no radio, poor heating and I seem to be unable to drive it as she puts it "normally" (not quite sure what she means by this) Yep I'm sure it's the shopping thing ;D

I also fall into the category of being married to a top wife! At the moment, she has to commute to work and I look after the kids. Given that both the Imps have only front belts this means that I spend all day trogging around in the Xantia Estate, while she gets to commute 35 miles a day in either Husky or Imp (depending on which one is working at the moment!) And she never complains, even though one has no heater and the other has no stereo. And she came with me to drive the cars to Budapest and back in 2004 (with no carpets or trim actually - and we wired the stereo in en route) and round Scandinavia last year. So, yes, I've got a cool wife!!! Cheers Graham

If my wife suggests going shopping I always try to take the Bugrat. There's only room for a couple of carrier bags so it tends to be cheaper!

To be honest I think any bird that sticks with a man that has old motors that have to be explained and justified to normal people (but its in really good nick.....theres only 50 in the country.....they were really fast when they were new...etc) deserves some sort of commendation. From my job I have found the following to be true of most common or garden birds- Examples of cars that birds like: 206/7 cc, Streetka, new Tigra, Audi TT. Examples of cars that birds like their bloke to have: Lexus SC430, Mk5 Golf, BMW M3, new Passat, any late model Audi.
Examples of cars birds wont be seen dead in: Anything beige/gold/champagne, anything with black bumpers, anything red, anything japanese apart from a lexus or an MX5, anything roughly the shape of a Cavalier, anything with square lights, anything older than 2000, anything without a CD player.
So which list is your car on, and isnt your bird a bit of a sport just for getting in it?
Might sound a bit sexist and of course there are wonderful exceptions to the rule but I`m just being realistic.

Its a fella`s world, this mucking about with old cars thing. Some things just are. Bit of a random thought but I`ve never heard of a female used car dealer, bookie, mobile fishmonger or tyre fitter. Not daft these birds.

My mrs has put up with tons and tons of my classic car nonsense. I couldn't ask for a nicer lady friend She's not really the tatoo type but she wants some pinstriping on her daily (or 'nice lines on cars' as she prefers to call it) I've also got to buy her a Commer camper (she's been pestering me about getting her one for the last two years) so she can re-trim the interior. All in all, legendary work.

The fact I'm still married and even alive is down to the fact she's a deal more understanding than maybe many would be. Still gets on my case about the tat. She has a point I guess.
