I bought this car as a runaround for my daughter back in march. It's a bit rough around the edges as the previous owner was not the most careful of fellows.
She's a 1998 S 5 door 1.6 8v in gunmetal grey with tinted rear glass.
Mileage is approx 132k
The good bits:
MOT'd til 15th April 14
The numberplate (S44WAD) has been valued at approx £1000 - we have documental proof of this.
Oil& filter changed last month.
Since we've had it we have fitted:
O/S/F Brake flexi hose (new).
New rear subframe mounting bushes.
Replacement (used) rear light clusters.
N/S/F Headlight (new)
Lambda sensor (new)
One of the plastic coolant pipes in the engine bay.
Replacement drivers seat.
Theres a set of new brake pads in the boot.
The bad bits.
Crack in windscreen
The front wishbone bushes need replacing.
The interior suffered under its previous owner and my daughter preferred to concentrate of mechanical issues so it stayed as it was when we got it, so..
The glovebox is missing.
The center console needs replacing as it is split. It looks like the PO tried to glue it back together with copydex!
The armrest needs replacing - the PO didnt like it any more than he did the console.
There are quite a few car park and shrubbery scratches, the worst of which are on the front bumper.
Front tyres will need replacing soon-ish.
One door mirror needs replacing, the other needs a new cover.
One of the rear windows has popped off it rails but we will try to get that sorted before sale.
It has the potential to be a tidy little car. It has never let us down - if theres one thing this car has going for it it's the reliability. My daughter reports that she gets good fuel economy from it, far better that her previous Astra 1.6 16v.
There is some tax on the car which she wants to reclaim but it can be had at cost.
£400 ONO
