The time has come to sell my 1998 Civic 1.8 Vti which I’ve driven the last 10 years.
The car is only on 88 thousand miles, the car was pre-registered with Honda, owned by a gentleman in his late 50’s for a number of years then purchased by me on 31k miles. It comes with service history from new with all of the original books and keys.
All oil changes (these have been done very regularly , I think the biggest gap between them is about 7k, most are much less than that.) have been stamped in the service book by the garages who carried out the work. Other work such as plugs and filters etc have been done by myself and the receipts kept.
The car is standard spec of 168bhp with an 8.5k redline and an LSD in the gearbox.
The only modifications are a set of lowering springs, Sebring stainless rear box and some fast road OMP front pads .
It has a Thatcham cat 1 alarm fitted along with the certificates.
Within the last year it has had new rear discs and pads, a cam belt and tensioner kit and a new radiator and thermostat was fitted at the same time. The aircon was topped up too.
Once cleaned up the car is in very reasonable condition for it’s age, there are a few car park marks on the outside as you would expect but nothing too bad. One of the front fog lights has broken recently but it still works.
The half leather interior is in very good condition, the back seats have had little use and are spotless, the fronts are good too with no marks on the material at all. The bolsters are nice and firm but there is some colour loss on the piping which could easily be sorted with some coloured leather restorer, I just never got round to doing it.
The car will come with tax until Feb 2014 and is MOT’d until September 2014.
This has been a fantastic car and has caused me no issues over the years at all, I am genuinely sad to be parting company with it.
If I get a chance the car will come with a fresh oil change but it could do with a pair of front tyres soon (195/50/15 so cheap as chips) but I will reflect that in the price.
There is a similar car on piston heads at the moment with 166k on the clock for £995 so I’m asking a very reasonable £800 for this as I need to move it but I am prepared to talk about that figure if someone is genuinely interested.
I will get some pictures up tomorrow once I have had a chance to get it cleaned.
