Hello chaps.
As with my little Mazda my BMW E46 323 Coupe is up for sale due to a change in direction in a hope to free up some space and funds.
I bought this recently with the intentions of getting it up and on the road and running it out to Germany, with all the little features on it such as Memory seats and Cruise control it would have been an absolute dream, but sadly due to a change in direction and desires the E46 is up for sale.
V Reg - 2.5 232 - straight 6 - E46 BMW coupe
Cream Leather
Manual - 5 Speed
Air con
4 electric windows
Cruise Control
Electric Seats
Memory seat and mirror function
160k
Depo LED rear lights
Depo smoked indicators
Cone filter
Reversing sensors
Multi function wheel (inc Phone)
HPI clear.
The main problems with the car.
No MOT or Tax
Worn Bolster on the drivers seat
Chip in windscreen
N/S Kidney grill has some damaged fins
Bonnet it pretty stone chipped.
The drivers side headlight needs splitting, drying and resealing as it is starting to condensate. If I have the time I will sort this prior to sale.
Drivers side door unlocks from the fob as and when it wants to. It always unlocks from the inner door handle. It is not a GM5 Module failure but is believed to be an intermittent fault with the drivers side door actuator. I do believe it can be repaired by someone with a bit more inclination than myself.
NO MOT NO TAX.
I bought this car with no MOT or tax requiring little work to get back on the road. Now bellow is a list of things which I have replaced. The car needed new indicators and tail lights which were bought and replaced. The speedo was broken but is now intact and working along with the MPG gauge.
The car was bought with an ABS fault. The ABS light was on, along with the traction control light and brake system light. At the cost of £60 I replaced the N/S/R ABS sensor which fixed the Speedo Problem, I then replaced the O/S/R ABS sensor, this got rid of the Brake System light. I then bought a BMCables Diagnostic tool which is installed into your laptop and can scan your car for faults. Since I bought this to further diagnose the ABS fault I have had a change in direction and I never got any further with the problem. I will of course include the scanning software in the sale so that any potential buyer can scan the car themselves.
I know what its like buying a car, it can be a stressful time as it is selling a car. I will try my upmost to describe the car in as much detail as possible to avoid any sort of disapointment for any potential buyer and as a seller.
Engine and box
Engine starts well every time with out fail, idles very well. despite the engines mileage it pulls like a train, very strong and most certinaly impressed me. The straight 6 sounds fantastic and gets to temperature as it should and stays there. The gearbox is again very good, goes into every gear as it should and does not crunch, grind or pop out in any gear.
Brakes and suspension.
Again all dampers and springs are complete and intact, dampening and rebounding as it should with no fault at all. The brakes are strong and effective with no conerning pedal feel or pull.
Interior.
An exceptionally nice place to be with electric seats and the memory function which is ideal if you intend on sharing the car with a partner for example. The car has crusie control and air con which again apear to function as they should, all interior lights are present and working. The only fault in the interior is the driver seat bolster is very worn.
Wheels and tyres.
Standard BMW wheels fitted with relatively new looking, matching dunlop tyres all round. Some of the alloys do have signs of marking from fitting and removal, no wheels are damaged to any concerning extent but they are by no means perfect.
Bodywork.
The car is finished in a deep dark blue, it has some noticeable stone chips to the bonnet along with a few funny marks on the boot although nothing overly concerning. The body does all seem completely straight with no areas of damage.
Interior and motor photos will be included tomorrow.
Overall this, I feel is a fantastic car with huge potential for some one after a cost effective commuter. In all honest I do belive the fault with the ABS light to be related to the front two ABS sensors which can be had off of ebay for £15 each. I know what you are thinking, at that outlay why not sort it myself and sell it on with an MOT. The bottom line is I do not have the time, interest or incination to do it myself.
I am selling this on at the price I paid for the car orignally, if you factor in the DEPO lights front and rear (Have a quick look for some LED DEPO rears) the two new ABS sensors and the other little bits on the car and I am most certinaly loosing money here but once again it needs to be sold on to free up both space and funds.
I am asking £600 which i feel is extremely fair for the car in question. I am inclined to say no offers but once again I would be interested in hearing some if they are reasonable. Again I would be more than happy to discuss possibly recovery costs if you are some distance away. Sorry, No P/X
