Up for sale is my 77 Mg midget. I bought it a couple of months ago with every intention on getting it back on the road but work and other commitments got in the way!
So about the car! It was restored in 1999/2000 and used for a few years then put in a dry garage in 2003 where it sat until earlier this year. It has spax shocks, roll bar with leather cover, tan leather interior, currently fitted with hard top but soft top is also present. It's got fresh ht leads, a new choke cable, new leather check straps to fit, new bonnet release cable to fit, a classic stereo also to fit. I've also fitted a nice mountney steering wheel and boss. It also comes with a stack of old mot's and receipts going back to the early eighties!
when I first bought it I had It trailered home. Put a battery on it and some fresh fuel and got it running quite easily. It sat on idle fine, held good oil pressure and didn't overheat at all. The previous owner had removed the carbs at some point for overhaul so they will need balancing to get it running spot on.
The body work is above average for a project midget I'd say. Not your usual rot box! Underneath is rock solid and I invite anyone to come and look for themselves. The doors, wings, arches ect are all the same. The inner front lip of the bonnet has a little bit of rust but not noticeable when shut. The boot floor is also nice and clean! The paint is a little tired. May clean up but I, not selling it as mint. A bit of surface rust on the drivers door has blemished it and there's a few marks dotted around the car.
The interior is good considering its age, the main flaws are paint peel on the dash, and a tear on the drivers seat base ( not the end of the world ) It also has nice mg mats inside plus the steering wheel.
I've had things like the horn, lights and wipers working. The hazards we're very slow so may need a relay. Brake lights, instruments and dash lights ect all seemed fine. The instruments are loosely fitted.
So on the whole not a bad little car that wouldn't require much to get it on the road. Sold with no tax or text. V5 needs applying for but will provide full receipt.
£850 Open to offers or would appreciate a swap for anything remotely retro with tax and test I can run though the winter (literally anything, try me) pm or text/call 07501050500
