I always thought that they where the same underneath? or is it body/trim parts your struggling to find?
Personally i would go with the viva unless your good at/ enjoy bodywork

na, completely different underneath. viva'sfour link with pig tail springs, chev's three linked with torque tube and panhard, plus they went imperial to metric when they swapped over, things seem a bit easier to find, even if its just a nut or bolt or something small ya know?! ta for the ideas guys, keep em comin yeh!!

I think its wider (the Viva axle)
Shuvitt axles arn't that weak are they?
I'd do the Viva myself but up to you really. Both are well in bits.

Both seem worthy projects, what happens to the one you don't do, does it get made into a little metal box?

personnally I would say the viva. its already the correct colour has a rebuilt front end new wings(glass) less rust(almost none!!) a stronger axle std. and is just ready for a engine.... a cupple of wires (front end wiring put back in and wiring up the det) easy for me this one.... keep use the chev till the viva is done (a good 4 to 6 weekends tbh) and sell the chevette to pay for the tax/mot etc for the viva.. ;D but its your decition TBH go with what you really want!! si

I'd do the Viva because it means little to no bodywork, you just have to screw it together.

well ive kind of got both of these cars anyhoo ( firenza + kadett c) and I can guarantee you that you'll turn far more heads in the viva than you ever will in the chevette... so for me I would be looking at the viva.. as far as parts go (again having personal experience with both ) they're probably on a par with each other tbh.yes there's probably more chevette stuff comes up for sale generally but once you start digging and contacting the viva club etc you will find an awful lot of viva stuff out there , you just got to know where to look having said that , arches and sills for the chuvitt aren't going to break the bank and its a low miler isn't it ? why not mothball one , put all your energy and enthusiasm into the other and then you've still got a long term project you can plan in the back of your mind.. oh and much as i like both my cars , to answer your final question - the viva is cooler. by miles ..

I like both of these mosheeeens to be honest - that's a dirty looking chevette (in a good way!) and i was keeping up with your post on it, seem a shame to quit now after working on it. But the Viva is the way forward: keep the matt black, match it with some wide black/gold rims, slam it and put the biggest V8 you can find into it...........money's only a number!!
