As some of you may know, owing to an expensive holiday which takes place in the middle of the show season (no R-R show for me ) I was planning to leave the Cressy on the drive this year. A quick rethink and a couple of requests has meant a slight change of plans was in order so I'm going to slap some tax on it and run it whilst it's got some MOT and insurance left on it. It appears some re-commisioning is in order.
To many people, re-commisioning means a thorough check, and turning the car over with the coil lead removed to circulate the
oil before starting. Very much like my plan - except for the checking and coil bit. I picked an old battery up that used to be in the Missus' Sunny (remember the alternator saga? - she had the Cressy battery back then), bolted it in, connected some jump leads (heavy duty - if there's one tip I can give fellow R-Rers then it'd be NEVER buy cheap jump leads ) and turned the key. Did it start? 'Course it did. Cheered by my Cressy's reliability I proceeded to throw some soapy water on it - with reasonable results:
It's getting scabbier - but still cleans up nicely I think.
Off to the Post Office tomorrow for the tax. Woo hoo! Is that enough for a good day? Probably...but there's more! As per my usual routine I went and picked the children up from school, but unlike most days my return was greeted by a delivery from Japan. Woo hoo! again...
More magazines? No (they're on the way though, and there's some good stuff coming ). This time it's these:
Keep an eye on the For Sale board model fans. I've got to work out prices/costs and then I'll be taking orders! ;D
