I've just had the dust covers off my Mercedes V8 that's been sat in the garage in bits for donkeys years.
After a lot of chin stroking and wondering what to do with the damn thing, I think I've decided to chuck the thing back together and see what happens.
I'm still teetering on the edge of weighing in the alu bits and getting something else, but I've got a bit of time so I might have a play with it.
The only problem is, my original plan involved MegaSquirt EFI and in order that I give myself a cat in hell's chance of getting the thing built up, I thought I'd shelve the EFI part for now, and run carbs. In the mean time I can finish building the EFI system to put on later.
Only trouble is, I don't know what carbs to use. A nice Holley or Edelbrock would look the dogs love spuds, but I know nothing about them. Other hare-brained ideas involve quad SU's (I'm sure I have a box of HS6's somewhere...) or Strombergs...
...also please bear in mind I'm brassic, so the cheaper the better really
