Yes, as said before the Octavia Sold yesterday, and today I bought This. Yes, as of when I pay for it, I'm a fully fledged, high rise, funny fuel burning, V8 turning, leather clad retro driver again. Job one will be to get it through an MOT, then, enjoy the ride. Maybe, just maybe I'll get out the Satin Smoothrite and brush, then Add "DerangeD" on the front and "V8 Tank" on the back in those stick on chrome letters. And I've even got a few hundred quid to do any work that is needed.

Ummmm. ... okay.
3.5in lift is gonna be properly horrible to drive day-to-day. And you're gonna need 10in wide wheels to make it not look stupid & unbalanced. Those with the tyres is going to kill the 'change' you had from your Octavia and then some.
Personally, I'd have sought out an un-messed with one and started from there. I came very close to whopping a bid on an LPG'd bone stock 3-9SE in westminster grey - that is RR nirvana!
Good luck. You are going to need it!

I don't know anything about Range Rovers but it looks like it meets yesterday's criteria of BIG! My only concern is the pic where the guy appears to have a couple of other Rangie's in his drive... and an RAC van behind this one?!?

As Pog said......anything over a 2" hike will need either offset radius arm bushes or camber-corrected radius arms on the front otherwise the geometry will be all over the shop, will bump-steer and shimmy all over the place.
Having said that, I love driving them no matter how ratty!!!

I wanted a ratty one first to see how I like them. I'll get a minter later when I enjoy it too much I'll just chug along in traffic looking down on the jelly moulds.

Cool When you pic it up find out how he has lifted it and what he has done to it. It looks like it has packers under the front and rear springs to lift them If it does have packers underneath I would get them took off and return to the original seats if you can. If its got 3.5" springs take em off and fit a set of 1",1.5"`s or 2"s. Much easier for you to live with and a damn site more comfortable to boot. You could sell the 3.5`s to someone else on ebay. I would recommend finding a decent LPG fitters near you and asking them what spark plugs they would recommend. Plugs are often a different heat grade for LPG compared to standards. Then change the plugs, dizzy cap, rotor arm and fit a set of silicone leads and see how it runs then (ignition has got to be tip top for LPG). Then its probably worth sticking it in for an LPG service, Then once its MOT`ed get it off road

To answer the questions. 1)Will find out what he did to lift it. But at least he fitted the longer braided hoses. 2)Plugs, leads and cap, and then a check on mixture while on gas was my number 1 thought as I know they can miss and back fire when too lean and when there are ignition probs. 3)They are the original seats I think, and I asked about the drivers seat because of the cover on it. Apparently the seat is fine but the cover is there to keep the mud off. 4)Yes, he does off road it. I like one that has been used properly, looks to have been maintained, and modified and looking at his parts cars down the drive, he has a fair set of spares there too.
If it handles like poop there are things that can be done. It'll be fun, even if I just get it 12 months MOT and 6 tax and flog it once the novelty wears off. But I don't think I will.

I don't know anything about Range Rovers but it looks like it meets yesterday's criteria of BIG! You know, unless it was an LSE (which it isn't), the rangie is actually a couple of inches wider, but about 3 inches shorter than the Octavia it is replacing, but about 4 feet taller. The Missus is happy because it is smaller, but sick because I'm selling the Octavia because she chose it and thought it was the best car I ever had.

Oh no, don't worry. I'm expecting that while the Octavia ran like a clock, this is going to need attention and some work for the MOT, I expected that, hence why I wouldn't go above £600 for it. there seems to have been a bit of a resurgence of the price of decent ones. Couple of months back, £600 got one with 6 months MOT and tax, and £1k got one that had been cuddled everynight for it's whole life. Now, half decent ones are topping £1k again and the good ones are selling at £1500-2500.
It's a rat, I'll probably be the end of life owner, at least in road car terms. But I think I will enjoy it.
