Hi all,
As per the title, 1997 BMW 318is coupe with manual gearbox. This car has the 'M44' 1.9 litre engine, which apparenty is very good! I can certainly vouch for its great performance, smoothness and fantastic mpg.
The car has had 3 former keepers, has 105k miles on the clock and comes with a bundle of history include lots of service stamps and MOTs. Service stamps at:
9165 miles (BMW)
18855 miles (BMW)
28735 miles (BMW)
37668 miles (BWW)
47398 miles (BMW)
55853 miles (BMW)
66272 miles (JK Auto)
76216 miles (St Michael, Kent)
85452 miles (Staplehurst Road garage, Sittingbourne)
94345 miles (Brown's Motorworks)
99707 miles (Halford's Pettman Cres, London)
Had its MOT 2 month ago, and had new oil, filter and front tyre done at the time. Advisories were for corrosion on rear brake lines (brake performance was fine). The car has 10 moths MOT, and 4 months tax (31st Dec 2013).
Car drives fantastically, smooth, refined and more than quick enough. Gearbox is smooth and precise, engine is quiet, brakes and suspension are solid. All 4 tyres have lots of life. Air conditioning is still nice and cold. Comes with original toolkit, first aid kit, high viz signage and seemingly everything else BMW gave the first owner!
Bodywork is excellent, waaay above average for its age and NO RUST anywhere on the vehicle!
Only bad points are a rattle from the exhaust- sounds like a backbox or possibly heat shield, remote central locking does not unlock passenger door only the drivers', and the passenger window stopped working around 3 weeks ago- still clicking when the switch is pressed, likely an easy fix for someone. No rips/ holes/ wear to interior, though would benefit from a valet.
Aftermarket stereo has a flip-out screen which has to be moved manually- I just leave it in and use as a normal head unit. IPod connector in the glovebox.
Bodywork is Montreal blue with colour coded bumpers and nice skirts, and I cannot state enough how straight it is and how great the paint is. Must be seen and driven.
Car will come with 'N111KSL' private plate.
Asking £1050 ovno, which I think is fair given the car's condition. There are cheaper E36s, but most of them are nothing like this. :-)
Would consider interesting part-ex with money my way or swaps.
Apologies in advance if Ive not obeyed the rules!
