Does anyone consider that when they buy something like this ? 10 is pretty grim though, take it it's a big block (454) ? Only the Yanks could build a motor like that and call it a Suburban  Edit as i'm blind, would have thought you'd get around 20 mpg on a run from a small block ? |

Sorry pal, was'nt being sarcastic (just realised it may have sounded so) Used to get asked that all the time when i ran Yanks years ago, used to say, Oh, about 12............ .....Lampposts to the gallon |

not ran it too much, did 150 mile on 40 quid at 80 on motorway. as said though i didnt get it for mpg!!

I'll be interested how you get on with this. There's plenty for sale over here at handy money (compared to the equivalent year Land Cruiser or Range Rover), presumably due to a healthy consumption. This is giving me nasty thoughts.
The only trouble is, when you smoke one of these around downtown Manila, everyone thinks you're American, thus ripe for a kidnap!!
But still...

I'm a mechanic and rover trained, and have a soft spot for range rovers. just got rid of a p38 4.6, which was perfect in everyway. But to be honest i wouldnt say the fuel consumption is much different, and the range rover just didnt have the presence of the suburban, all be it a fantastic car.

Yup, that's where I sit now whilst looking for wheels. Love the P38 but unmolested ones are few and far between here and Land Cruisers make silly money, but the Chevy? Bloody cheap for what you get and, with fuel at around 72 pee a litre, not an issue either. Much spares backup as, of course, the US embassy has a huge fleet of them. One interesting thing as I was poking thorough the online adverts today was the term "bulletproof" and I thought they were talking about mechanicals. No, they really mean bulletproof! I would send a link to show it, but only in the Philippines can a major sales website (think Auto Trader) be undergoing maintenence at 4pm on a Tuesday! |

lol, they are a great car i do love it, not as fast as the 4.6, but it will pull more. and they are huge full 3 seater bench in front

There's a Holden badged RHD one down our road, Don't think its got a big block though.... Edit just realised neithers yours its 'only' a 5.7 |
