My Mrs is starting to learn to drive in a codger-matic and we will be looking to get ridof the Swift and buy her a little car.
The question is do I use my Acclaim as my daily driver or do I get myself a nice little retro to use in the week.
I have been dreaming of a Panda 4x4 and or a nice MK1 Metro although I have some strange urges for a Bedford Rascal/Susuki Super-Carry/Daihatsu Hi-Jet mini people carrier.
What do I do?

With the weather improving, I'd be tempted to use the Acclaim as a daily. Get yourself something else when the weather turns grim again later in the year.
That said, there is a lot to be said for mkI Metros and one car is never enough!

The Acclaim will definatly be the used as much as posible over the summer but don't really wat to be leaving it at work as the traveller scum may see it as an easy target.
Is the insurance really that high on a Hi-Jet - strange.
edit: Ihave just run a quote on the web amd ot hascome outthe same as my Swift about £350 a year TPFT thats parked onthe street in not the best area. I have 2 years NCB
Rest assured the Acclaim does not live on the street, my mother in laws drive is her home.

You definitely need some ant-theft measures but then I'd recommend that to anyone. Must remember to start using the steering wheel lock on my 2CV - took it out to shift some stuff about and never put it back in! I'll go and do that now...

I have a steering lock on the Acclaim but they usually just smash and grab, it has happened to 3 cars this week. Unfortunatly I think they are to thick to realise that they aint going to be able to sell a 1983 push button MW/LW radio and leave my car alone.
