This had been my daily driver for the last 4 years. I was only going to use it for one winter but it's been too good to let go. It's excellent on fuel, cheap to insure, comfortable to drive and with the turbo is nicely nippy when you want it to be. I'm only selling it now because to drive to work is a nightmare in any car so I've got a moped. The golf only gets used at the weekends now, and with access to another car and my VW camper I just don't need it anymore.
Being an older car it has needed some work doing, but I've done everything it's needed when it's been needed and used quaility parts.
In the last 12 months it has had
Front shock top mounts, both sides
Front track control arms, both sides
Tracking
Battery
Full service
LUK clutch and bearing
clutch cable
Gear oil change
Radiator and coolant
Front wheel bearing, drive flange and tyre
Diesel spill pipes
Prior to that it has also had
Both rear wheel bearings
Rear drums and shoes
Engine service
Front discs and pads
Alternator rebuilt
Glow plug change
Heater matrix replaced
It's a good solid car with very few signs of rust, a couple of little scabs on the sill and the usual light crustyness by the wiper blank. I had it on the ramp last month and the underside is all very good. Much better than a lot I've seen.
It's not a show winner, the lacquer on the bonnet is all peeling off and the front wings could also use a repaint, However it wouldn't take a lot of work to make it very nice indeed.
Comes with full size spare wheel (might have a space saver if you prefer) and original jack
