Going to silicon hoses is a great bet IMO on these, especially when some of the hoses are now unavailable from Peugeot. I do have one question mind you; who was your source for the coolant hoses? I may need a top heater matrix hose on mine and I notice that yours seems to come with the matrix bleed off screw in it unlike many replacements I have seen . I might have an old OE spare kicking around. I fitted Samco hoses to mine in about 2002, has the bleed screw - still going strong.

Seems to be pretty top notch stuff - Pug1Off fitted them, and they're the hoses they use as a matter of course in their builds. Your first post included the words 'modest monthly budget' then we saw Coilovers, disks, outsourced electrical work, refurbed alloys, Avons... I'm guessing some of this is at low rates to get advertorial coverage for the suppliers but how much would it have cost you so far if you were paying for it all? Yeah, the 'modest monthly budget' thing was a little tongue-in-cheek and yes, parts and labour are often offered at favourable rates for ad coverage (that's why mags run project cars!), but I am chronicling all of the real-world costs in the mag features. who broke the dipstick tube then? Ha ha, it's back in its correct place now!

Looks good that, something a bit different. What sort of cost is one of these systems if you don't mind me asking? appreciate it's not off the shelf but a rough idea would be great.

Loving this...following it on here and in the mag reminds me of my old 1.6 back in the day, c2??bot...bought from my sister as a 5 year old for £300!!....sold 3 years later for £800!!....those were the days

Love reading this project in the mag. I'm a big 205-lover and also a fan of the mag so it's my favorit article. Allthough I have my questions whit what your "modest budget"... Also as a 205 fanatic I feel the erge to set something straight, I think your 205 is a more rare 86 car not an 87 as it is probbably registered. The tailgate you have is from a pre 87 model, this type of tailgate is only used for 3 years and fearly rare, you can spot the difference on the topside of the tailgate. In your case the rearside is flat till the top side where a past 86 has a small overhang and has an other cind of spoiler. Also your car has the ultra rare small teardrop mirrors and not the fatter version with the extra line on the cover. These mirrors are also the type of mirrors used on the T16.
If you look at the markings on your windows (bottom corner) you'll find a number and some dots. example ....6 is a car from april 86 or april 86. 7.. is a car from august 87 or august 97. the dots symbolise the month where the number refers to the production year.
I love the fact you referbed the original alloy wheels. The two tone paintjob is in my eyes and easy and cheap method not to get any color difference after the repairs(not my style, but hey...) Some tips: if you really want to work on a modest budget you can by a second hand set of coilovers of 206. They are verry communly for sale and the only modification you need to make is a knut or a pease of small pipe you put on the threath on top under the topmount as otherwise the threath comes true to much and hits the inside of the bonnet.
Keep the updates comming... And keep the car original, don't overdo it.
