I'm offering this on the forums first as I would like it to go to an enthusiast.
It's time to move on my GSI.
It's a low mileage prefacelift 24v auto which I bought last year from a TC/ABS member.
I have a folder full of reciepts dating back to when the car was new. The true mileage is in the region of 95,000 miles but the original digidash failed under the last owner and a replacement was fitted (by me). I did advise him to note the original mileage at the time but it seems he never did. I remember the car was showing 92 thousand and some and the car has done a couple of thousand since. The replacement digidash is showing 86 thousand.
The interior reflects the mileage - it's almost mint. The original half leather has no cracks, splits or tears.
The original stereo was not with the car so I fitted a Kenwood CD player.
The engine runs very well and the autobox changes smoothly as it should with no knocks or jolts. An aftermarket aircon system has been fitted, but the drive belt was removed when I got the car and to be honest I have just left it that way. The drive belt is with the car though and I have the original users handbook for the system.
I have fitted remote central locking using a Vectra ECU. I have 2 fobs for this.
The arches have been repaired at some time in the car's history. The N/S is still fine but the O/S will need rubbing back, treating and repainting as some rust is appearing - see pics.
Other than the one arch, the only other rust is a small patch on the top edge of the driver's door door.
The car has lived outside for most of it's life, consequently the paint is in need of a mop.
Unfortunately it's missing it's original wheels - apparently the previous owner's dad gave them away . Someone had a good day!
It is now running on 16" Omega softstars with good tyres on all four.
Currently on SORN but with a spanking new MOT (Exp 29/8/14)
