The Sebring rear box on the civic has developed a blow. The box and pipe work appear in vgc (not bad as its been on the car for over 8 years) but it seems to have suffered on the weld that attaches it to the flange.
Can anywhere recommend somewhere who can do a reasonably priced repair either near Chelmsford or Harlow?
The garage that mot it for me don't have the correct welding rods for stainless

if you don't expect it to last forever, you can weld stainless with normal mig wire without any issues,
That said if the MOT place who could weld it up don;t know that, you probably don't want them welding up your nice exhaust.

if you don't expect it to last forever, you can weld stainless with normal mig wire without any issues As stated, this will last, especially if its towards the rear where there isnt so much heat on it. don't know what it would cost you, but if you wanted to courier it to me, or you was up this way i'd tig it up at work for you. Are there any colleges near you? When i was doing the welding and fabrication module of my apprenticeship many (22) years ago people were always dropping in with home jobs - the lecturers were more than happy to let you do them as it was experience on "real" jobs rather than tacking pieces of plate together...
