I keep meaning to put this up here, this will be a brief summary as to where it is today... Firstly - This swap has been rolling around in my head for a while, originally it was going to be into a corrado but parts prices are silly and I couldn't find a clean one for the right money. The idea was to use a Mk4 Golf PD150 engine & 6spd gearbox, to create and awesome diesel GT car, to do long trips in style and comfort. Anyway, I ended up impulse purchasing this, straight away swapped my Nothelles onto it: 1.6TD Mk2, LHD, painted audi meteor grey. Then chucked a set of Porsche handles on it: Then spent a very cold January afternoon ripping this out of a MK4: PD150 engine, 6 speed gearbox, looms, ECU. It snowed not long after: Collected parts: Rear gearbox mount & front mount: I was lucky that I found suppliers for all 3 engine mounts(eventually), as I wanted it to be a quick bolt in, not be messing around fabricating stuff... Engine on its stand for rebuild: Why rebuild? Well one, I have no idea how many miles this thing has done, and two, PD diesel engines like eating camshafts and followers, like so: (one of my previous PD engines was MUCH worse than this) Note, injectors IN the head, PDs are a wierd mechanical/electrical hybrid engine, where the injectors are cam driven but electronically controlled. New things! Putting back together: Meanwhile a frined built my engine loom, plug and play into the MK2 fusebox, run the MK4 OEM ECU and OBD-II port Will contnue in post #2...

...Continued D-Day: Cut chunks out of an OEM rear mount (not smart, but did the job temporarily) Bought a man-clutch from AMERICA!!! rated to 500lb/ft Put the engine in: Didnt like the corrado crossmember so changed back to a mk2 one, fitted up the loom and vac lines: More fitting up: You can see here the intercooler pipes needed changing, it was designed for a MK2 G60, we flipped it upside down... A friend made me some aly hardpipes: At the smae time, I swapped a fresh set of VR6 coilovers on and a Rallye rack with PAS, and a few other bits, I forget, anyways! Rocker cover gasket fix #1: With my best mate's Rallye: Some engine bay shot: fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/1003286_676209422395731_1576235144_n.jpgChillin' Driveshafts were not available at all from VW's parts bin, so we took some MK4 hollow ones and worked some magic: Also got some bits machined up to remove some d-day bodges: Fitted run-out OEM Ultraviolet electric Recaros: had to use a MK4 fuel filter which didnt fit the MK2 bracket so it was cable tie time... Couple more general shots, fitting up the return fuel cooler as hot diesel and a plastic tank isnt a good combo! At GTI International: one more update coming...

Yeah, going for a hybrid turbo when the engine comes back out, good for 240/ish bhp and 400/ish lbft.

This is fantastic, my ideal daily! I had no idea the PD engine and 6 speed box could be fitted to the mk2. I bet it flies!

Did you use a Passat B4 TDi pedalbox, or did you make up your own bits for the DBW & hydraulic clutch? If you can see past the turbos made of chocolate and the camshaft/injector problems, then ARL & ASZ are great PD lumps

Thanks for the love guys! Its not boosting properly so need to get vag-com plugged in and do data logs. 6spd physically fits but driveshafts are custom.

BRILLIANCE, how many MPG are you getting? 400+ miles to a tank kicking its head in everywhere. Once mapped i should see more. Fuel gauge doesn't really work properly at the mo so not done brim to empty as yet.

No loom diagram, he does it all from his head, no loom boards, no wiring diagrams! So I finally made space in my workshop for another big hit on it: My list: Front end off: Electric mirrors in
