Hello all,
It's been a little while since I made a thread for one of my projects on RR but you may remember some of them. A quick run down would be a good re-introduction I guess.
After 7 years, two chassis, two engines, two shells and god knows how many litres of blood, sweat and tears I finally sold the rally Beetle project. Felt weird to see it go but it was time to move on.
Bought a very straight one owner form new Audi 80 for fun and then sold for what I paid for it:
Then I gave a tired old 924 a bit of a makeover:
Then I sold my very solid GTI on this very site for far too little:
Gave another of my family's Mk2s a proper overhaul:
Then some of you might remember my timewarp E21 320 with a genuine 33,000 miles on the clock:

Soon after it sold I acquired a tired old Mk1 Golf which had had the usual mistreatment of cheap coilovers, nasty wheels etc so I spent a couple of months returning it to it's original state - another one I never should have sold!
Then I bought this little Datsun of this very forum, welded up the holes, got it running, MOT'd and back on the road for the first time in 3 years and just used the damned thing. Great fun little car! Really miss it.
Spotted a 1969 Microbus Deluxe for sale in the States for a bargain price back in January, it arrived around Easter and by June I had resurrected it. Quite a big project as it had no engine fitted and was practically a rolling shell when I bought it! Here's a before and after:
So on to my latest project! It's a 1971 Mercedes W115 220 with a genuine 68,000 miles on the clock and 4 previous owners. Interior is mint. There's a little bit of rust around the edges but it is fundamentally very solid underneath.
This one only required a front brake flexi-hose for it's MOT which was quite a result. So far I've had to fix the dash lights and thats about it. It's been great in daily service - just a shame the 2.2 litre 4 cylinder has the fuel consumption of a big 6!
