	The mystery number plate was issued to a 1994 Toyota Carina........ who knows how it ended up on a Yank Beemer!!!

	Pretty much the same mentality that means so many Yank plates end up over here... they can't all be bought from scrap car dealers can they! A friend of mine toured the USA and drunkenly stole a licence plate from every state to chart his progress across the country. I suspect the same thing happened in reverse, although they're not quite as cool in that you need the information to be able to turn E881 HLU into 'I visited London', it's not just stamped on the plate US-style.
