I'm massively gutted to be having to get rid of this car but I've outgrown it and need a van now. I've owned it for just over 2 years and it's been great. It's not going to win any show and shines but I've had loads of fun with it. I bought it for lugging my extreme unicycle display teams gear around the country, occasionally throwing bikes in and camping etc. It's been absolutely brilliant and has never let me down. I've done mostly motorway driving in it, travelling up and down between Luton and Edinburgh. It is a 1.8 8v petrol and will happily sit at 70mph on the motorway all day.
It's a little tatty, I had £200 quids worth of welding done to the sills when I first got it so they are fine but there are some scabby patches around the bottoms of the doors (See photos). I changed the seats for some slightly nicer looking dark ones which are also way more comfortable, especially for long drives. The boot latch is broken so the boot opens via a solenoid from a button on the dash.The old solenoid died about a year ago and the boot was stuck shut, I had to rip the plastic cover off to get the boot open and fix it, so there is no cover anymore.
Mechanically it's in decent condition. I've made sure it's had any parts it's needed. I did a full service on it almost 6 months ago and in the last year it's had all gearbox/engine mounts replaced, a new wishbone with bushes, metal coolant pipes replaced, second hand coil and a new dizzy cap and rotor arm. There is a knock when you let off the throttle which I suspect is a top mount.
It has coilovers fitted. I'm not sure what make they are but they are probably cheap ones. The ride is a little bumpy but no where near the worst I have been in . I have the spanner but have never actually adjusted them because a previous owner has knackered the bit you turn to adjust them on the nearside rear one. From the look of it I'm assuming it's seized and someone has tried hammering it round with a hammer and chisel and made a bit of a mess of it. The front has had the camber adjusted so the tyres don't wear out prematurely.
It has a CD player but the speakers aren't brilliant. I've never bothered messing with them because it's got aftermarket electric windows and a sunroof and I'm worried I'll curse word up the wiring if I go taking the doorcards off. There is a Cobra alarm wired in but I haven't got the key for it. It's turned off at the module under the bonnet but you may be able to get a replacement key from Cobra. It also has central locking but the door paddles have broken so it doesn't actually lock at the moment. I bought some new ones off ebay but I accidentally bought the wrong ones (There's two types ). They are really cheap from ebay and an easy fix.
It also comes with the load cover to hide stuff that's in the boot. The load area is massive with the rear seats folded down. It's easily 6ft long and fits our display rig. I've also had an airbed in the back and slept in it. It would be ideal as a cool parts hauler.
