Firstly, where can i find out the internal diameter of this heater hose and clip? The RED arrow.Secondly also need to know size of this hose... The white arrowI've looked in the HAYNES and can't find anything. Lastly...what exactly does this do? I assume it is a variable fuel device of sorts? Green arrow

take the hoses off and measure them? and chuck away the clip and fit a nice shiny new Stainless jublee clip! Ok...didn't have the time tonight and I'm using it as my daily right now. If i take of these hoses, will all coolant come out? Or will the pressurised system stop it from doing that? Thanks!

yup the coolant will come out, there should be a drain tap at the bottom of the radiator some where. Drain some out into a clean tub. Pull hoses off, then measure up! The old hoses look original so probably stuck fast and the clips will probably fall appart too. I'd get a selection of hose clips 'in stock' just in case as its a daily. I figure your looking to replace the old hoses for fresh ones? Probs worth a coolant flush and change if your doing that.

I’ve read through the Haynes so I’m prepared to do that. The hose that I’ve shown has some kind of material/sheathing on the outside, does it really matter if the hose I get doesn’t have that on? Almost all the hoses are new, I only need to change a couple now.

The braiding around the outside is to stop the rubber pipe expanding like a balloon when there's some pressure in it.
You'll probably find the other pipes have a braid covered in another layer of rubber, either is fine.
It's not near an exhaust part is it? Just want to make sure it's not for heat resistance.

Ah ok, you mean a modern version is just better constructed. No outer braiding... It is away from the high heat of the engine.
