Just bought my beetle from a local dealer.
Day I got it, traction control light came on when I got home.
Any way, took it back, supposed to have fixed it, TC light & engine check light came on so I took it back again... before doing that I gave it a scan with vagcom (lucky enough to have the full version), had a couple of fault codes logged.
Told me it had a Vacuum leak (which ties in with the fault codes) & they had fixed it, Mrs took it to the shops & light flickerd on again.
Scanned it again,1 of the last codes logged & a new one, again ties in to a vac leak.
So I thought I would have a poke about today as I had a spare hour: found their "fix"
They had gaffer taped all the joints up! Even worse than that, they hadnt spotted the fact the vac pipe was broken where it attaches to the M/C.
Now at this point I was starting to get really curse word off.
As I need to use it, I boddged the broken bit of the pipe with a bit of gardeg hose & a jubille clip & put a jubille clip back where it should have been.
Any idea how I go about getting this sorted? How dangerous is what they have done?
Also, where do I stand with this, would you consider this an acceptable repair?
I could just replace the pipes myself, but they come in at about £140!
