My current daily is a 1995 mk3 astra which ive fitted a 2.0 8v engine from an 1989 astra gte. As the engine doesn't run a lambda sensor ive removed the cat.
Mot time is coming up soon so I had a chat with my tester while having swmbo`d car tested. He`s very good with the tests and very fair only ever failing what needs too but without letting anything slip.
He`s convinced due to the new regs any car that was made with a cat now has to have it still fitted. And the car would have to meet its original emmisions test.
Ive always had modified cars and he`s always done the test to what is the oldest car or engine which is how I read it in the manual but he says he cant do that now.
Any mot testers on here know what the score is? And where I stand with having to have a cat fitted or not?
Thanks in advance guys.
