Part 1. Bought some parts.
Involved a big road trip to the deep South.
Part 2. Changed the brakes and dashboard.
Dashboard has since been almost completed and a dash pocket put in place of the airbag blank on the passenger side.
Part 3. Swapped the engines over. My First thread on RR! \o/
Ran into a few troubles they are all listed in the thread.
Now this weekend i had to take a train down to Coventry to hopefully finish off my car and scrap the coupe. Train wasn't too bad, £11 from Wigan to Coventry with Virgin trains.
First job, had to replace the radiator as mine had a hole in it. No problems there. Tighten the exhaust up and put the backbox on easily.
Used a funnel and some garden hose to make a snake to fill the gearbox up with fresh oil (this cured the strangely short throw and the crunching into reverse).
Filled up the system, heated it up and it and it held all the water so was a happy chappy. Drained it all today and refilled it with proper coolant.
Had some trouble getting the bonnet to sit properly, we took the bonnets off to make it easier to get at the engines, not realising how much of a pain they are to align!
Ended up putting it on the latch and wrapping cable ties around it to get the ruddy thing to close enough to get home. Spent all day faffing and finally got it to shut properly today.
Problems we ran into, didn't know which way the boost controller went on the hose so a quick test found we had it on the wrong way when it hit 18psi....
Popped a hose off when an Astra Turbo wanted to play, ooops.....
Popped a (different) hose off on the way up the M6 and my bonnet was cable tied shut and it was dark so had to limp home!
I need all new boost hose and clips for the boost controller, just a temp job on there atm. Anyone able to recommend a good supplier?
Need to replace the coil so i can use the magnecor king lead instead of an OEM one.
Still need to figure out the fan wiring for the loom, its tricky and nobody has it done properly yet, Ive just got a single fan on a 12v over-ride switch for use when standing in traffic.
The coupe wasn't too bad, the rear suspension was a pain to get off and involved hammers, breaker bars and swearing.
The front suspension nuts were rounded so hacksawed through the tie roads so the front hubs/arms/suspension and drive shafts are all still one unit.
Inside the coupe it stank, there was 3" of water in the boot and when destroying the boot build we found a used hash pipe......
Now the pictures!
Engine bay, the wiring is a bit of a state still. The cold air box needs to go on yet, and the battery needs to be moved to the boot, so suffers from some heat soak if left standing but thats understandable when you see the engine bay.
Mocal boost gauge temp fixed there.

3.5" I think, its a mongoose exhaust.
And an overall picture, wish id had my decent camera and not my phone as its a nice picture.
I need to finish off the KONI shocks and then get them on the car, but i know its not going to go well, the standard shocks will break when i try to remove them......
I have my MG 17" alloys but i need tyres for them, but all my moneys going into getting the car sorted, the SEI wheels have proxes on them so its alright.
Oh, and it seriously shifts!![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)
