so i'm helping a mate with an engine swap a d we seem to have an immobiliser problem...
its a 1.0 1998 6n, engine code is aer. enhine from donor vehicle is identical, also aer. now it took about 4 weeks from removing the original engine to putting the new one in down to availability/ sourcing a suitable donor engine ( original engine acquired was not up to scratch).
anyway, we got it in, it starts and runs for 2secs and cuts out. got a mate with VAG-COM to have a look and its the immobiliser.
so we switched over transponder box, reader coil, immo chip, clocks and ecu with the donor car but still to joy
the only other way we can think of fixing it is to re code the immobiliser with VAG-COM however we need the skc code/pin to do this but we don't have it and VW stopped giving them out a while back
Does anybody have any idea how we can get it running? :/
