I’ve been speaking to Rian (Grizz) recently, about an idea for some Saturday evening laughs during the camping at RRG13. I’m hoping it will be a little different, and a lot of fun, but we will need as many people as possible to help out. Some of you will know about my solo music, and for those that don’t, please see the youtube link below. Rian happens to be a fan, and we’ve come up with the idea of using my music, his gorgeous new Chevy pick-up truck, and everyone at the campsite to create a ‘RRG Show Video’ with a difference. We’re going to set up a mini stage in the back of his pick-up, from which I will perform a few songs, including ‘Retro Ride’ (see video below). We need as many people as possible to bring their drinks down to the pick-up, socialise, and be an ‘audience’ while I play. The plan is that when I start singing ‘Retro Ride’, you lot start videoing on your mobile phones/camcorders or whatever. When you all get home on Sunday evening, send us your photos and footage of the gig, as well as anything from the campsite and the show on Sunday. The best bits will be put together into one 4 minute video, with bits from the show, the camping, and the gig, from the perspectives of loads of different RRers. This is the song (although I might re-recordd it for the video) This is the ‘venue’ So like I said, we need your help to make this happen. It should make for a really enjoyable social evening, with the end result being an epic ‘Show Video’ to remember the weekend by. We still need to work out what time on Saturday, among other things, so we will keep you posted. Who’s up for it then???

Lets get a few things straight here
You want me to stand by a sweet truck?
You want me to drink ale?
You want me to listen to live music?
Tough one that...

Yep Please Rian mentioned the previous owners of the truck had a similar use for it. It's pretty cool that the same truck I will be playing in the back of, has had a band play out the back of it for years.

if the hotwire/keefy et al approve of this, get some flyers made, may be worth asking if they can hand them out with the campsite pack they usually give out

Hi Tim, are you going to be acoustic, as the other half plays electric violin, may be convinced to play acoustic if I twist her arm.....
Need to finish building the car first though.....

Anyone got a portable generator that works??
Been chatting to Tim, realized that in an open field between a load of Relaxed RR-ers his solo voice may not carry well. So thinking that a small PA system could improve our pleasure.
Generator??

No idea how the generator thing will go down, at the risk of sounding like a killjoy. The field's not very big, and there was enough whinging about loud music last year if I remember rightly. Probably best to keep it acoustic and intimate. That way everyone who wants to listen can, and those who don't want to don't have to.
Davenger and I both took acoustic guitars last year and had a bit of a jam on the Saturday night. Good fun!

I would tend to agree with this i also worry if its too organised do we fall foul of the dreaded public entertainment licence i am sure prescot have one but I'm not sure it would cover the campsite Sent from my GT-S6810P using proboards

You may be right tbh Brian, and Toreno I fear you may also be right about the public liability.
Lets keep it relatively low key and intimate then. It's more in the spirit of RR that way, so should make for a better video anyway.
