10 miles from here..... oooohhhh too much information ?I'm with pog on this one, buy it if its nice (ie not rusty or falling to bits) and if YOU like it! I'm falling in lust with teh wierd shaped one TBH, even if if it is a potentially problematic dullard package!

I think you answered your own question SS the Supra one had a different front end like (RW) Nicks. and i guess a lot more power too. something like that i guess...

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Nope. Different front end, and as this is a later one by then Supra would have had the big arches. Look closely and you can see it says 21R on the rocker cover. Then there's this......

if its mint, BUY IT! if the body is rough get the price down & sell the axel & parts & you'll make a mint, it all depends what its to be used for, if its a retro cruise machine & your not drifting it much the slush box don't matter, the slush box is an advantage at the 1/4mile for grip off the line! i think they are pretty nice looking!
if the body is good a later manual engine & box with possibly a turbo or 2 could be droped in, colour aint an issue if its in good cond overall

Mini 998cc grp bonnet & boot, lightend shell, 6-point cage, soon to have a turbo on the 998 engine (t2 frm a r5gt) rs turbo intercooler, hoping to get 120ish bhp?

we had a chat about these on a thread a couple of months back not all celica supras (ma61's) had wide arches, the earlier ones went without i think. Main differences as folk have said is the longer front end with popups to accomodate the six pot motor- the uk onesgot the 5M-GE 2.8 litre twincam jobbers. £600 is top dollar, but if its minty fresh the vendor can ask what he wants- they are rare, especially coupes (2 doors or notchbacks) but it is expensive in my opinion. i think they're great and ripe for an engine swap, 4ages go in there well i believe. i must admit the red one at the top of this thread tempted me, i'm not far from it- theres just no room for it in the st182 fleet unfortunately

Will see if between my decorating duties I can find a time spot over the weekend.
Thanks for all the info so far.
I have in 12 hours got to like this shape notch a whole lot, and the Pensioner beige is cool too.

Hmm. That's more than 'TLC'. The seller is obviously and old-skool arfur-daly fantasist with descriptions ( I peeked at the auto-trader listing last night ) Gieven that you're looking at £500 to sort the arches and paint, and that hole by the rear screen looks REALLY horrible, even £350 looks like a bad deal. If you want one of those, hang out for a better one. That's a few months away from either major (expensive) surgery or landfill.

Thanks Pog, Good to know. I do agree, the description is waaay off.
Creative writing 101 ?
You are right with Landfill vs surgery..... both would end up in tears.
TBH... Sapporo makes my heart beat a lot more in this arena.

As said yesterday, seems theres a few about and not too many chasers. some of the holes there are wierd, i think it would need to be cheap to inspire me.

Just called him to say I would not be buying.
Overall, it is not bad, but as you guys say ...... there are others which will be better priced and better condition.

Offer a negligible amount, leave your number and walk away. It could be an amusing crazy octopus style project if you lower it to within an inch of its life, making use of the fact it already has an MoT. Pay zilch for any mod’s, then if the head gasket goes or you have some terminal problem you can just weigh it in without having lost too much. I’m not sure if it would have much racing/export value due to the auto ‘box.
Use it to practice welding etc?
Edit: Just seen you're not going for it. Probably no bad thing.

Probably no bad thing. ;D ;D Problemis that here you have a guy who likes VW LT35 Vans as much as Starlets and also loads inbetween. as you mention, maybe a stupid offer could work, I suspect he bought it, or was given it off the driveway of a deceased estate, or moved into care home , so any money he gets will be in the pocket, maybe he MOT'd it, or maybe it was done before, as it runs till Jan '08. Would be nice to practice welding and colours etc on if landed real cheap.

I am fortunate to have decent new car for work an backup duties..... but an addiction is an addiction..... so I do need a toy and therapy in the garage with "me" time.

Toys are good, but ones that need work in the places that one does quickly become a pain in the ass. I went through all that when i did my van, and i still wish i'd waited for a better base! Toys are much better enjoyed on the road than stuck in the garage welding up bits that really shouldnt be rusty in the first place ;D
