Thinking about taking some solo time away......want to go on a car based pilgrimage. But apart from the ring my minds blank.
So where would you go? You have to be able to drive there and it has to be retro/motorsports based?

I would go to Stiges-Terramar. But then you've got to be interested in the history and not necessarily expect any action.

Motorsport, find a round of the european hillclimb championship. It is cheap for tickets, easy to get to, and the racing is INCREDIBLE!

What about a round Britian tour hugging the coast as much as possible ? I wanted to do it in my BMW Isetta for charity (my brother died of leukemia) but never managed. The AA route planned for me and I think it was something like 2500 miles.

For me it would have to be the mountain passes in the opening scene of the italian job, followed by taking in as much of the mille miglia historic racing event as possible. With the mix of scenery, food and 1950's v12 engines echoing off the walls of the village buildings, I could not think of anything else automotively I would rather do, my motoring nirvana

I would visit: Bonneville Salt flats Route 66 Cadillac Ranch But unfortunately non of these are in UK/Europe so perhaps some old abandoned circuits for some amazingly eerie photos

It depends what's your automotive thing. Donington museum for a superb collection of historic race cars. Lotus factory tour (I went recently and was in my element, but British specialist cars are my thing). Pendine Sands is a good tick-in-the-box just to put a face to a name, as it were. Brooklands I'd like to do. Factory tour of Morgan I'd like to do. Jaguar factory tour got some good feedback on recent thread. Monaco : walk the circuit to bring it to life next time you watch the F1 coverage. Make sure to stop at Cafe de Paris for refreshments Millau viaduct in mid-France for superbly engineered road bridge. Take in an F1 race en-route if you've not been before?
