I've been offered a Porsche 944, don't know much about it yet, but its 1986 and automatic. Will find out more tomorrow. But in the meantime, what are they like? Any advice would be good, don't know much about cars this modern. This isn't it, but i like this ;D

I thought there was an article a few weeks ago in CCW but after some frantic routing around in my "Filing System" it turns out it was about a 924. Sorry mate. How much you paying and whats the T&T situation.

The 2.5 engine is generally bulletproof as long as you keep the belts in check. Fair turn of speed and fairly economical, expect late 20's to the gallon. No real specific issues to look out for that I know of. The body is usually not a big issue as it is mostly galvanised, but check all the usual places anyway, if its had a prang at any time there are likely aftermarket replacement panels which aren't galvanised. Not sure about the auto 'box as I have never come across one or know anybody that has. Electrics are the bugbear. Check that everything works and then check it all again. If its an '86 it will have the earlier 924 style dash which cracks like a sod on top. thats about all I know.
