I have one of those really annoying aluminium racing jacks from China and when the car is up it slowly drops. It's just unrelaible so I am thinking about a new good quality one. But it needs to be low profile (to go under a low Ford Sierra), light - it goes in the back of my car when I go to the track - and the handle needs to be telescopic or split in half.
Any thoughts?
Anybody got a jack from Omega (http://www.omegatools.co.uk)?
Blue Point?
Any others?
Don't forget, light, and with handle that will fit in the car.
Thanks,
Charlie

Hmm, light, low-profile, fits in the car.

haha touche!
shouldn't you have an axle stand so the dropping doesn't matter...
agreed however that it is a pita and potentially dangerous, can you not just replace the seals?
I use an £80 clarke 3t jack, but its 40 kilos, but I still bung it in the back of the car.

that jack pictured is almost identical to a saab jack proper saab c900 9000 the 9000 jack has a flat plate riveted to the top to slide into the sliders on the bottom of the 9000
but you could easy drill out the rivets and remove said flat plate or weld some l shaped plates under your sierra to slide it into
I have a 9000 and I must say the car is very sturdy while up on the jack as its held in place by the plates and if it esasily jack up a saab no problems I light sireea will be esay
if you get one make sure you oil the pivots well not the screw part and it makes the jack movement silky dave uksaabs .co.uk and ask if anyone locals got a spare jack going
just went and measured me 9000 jack with the l shaped plate to floor is 4 inch if you cut the plate off could go down to three inch there really good jacks as long as its pivots are oiled dave

Arcan jack from Costco?
It's ally, handle unscrews from the bottom and then splits in half (screw is one you can remove with your hand) and is light yet sturdy enough to lift my old mans ford consuls and his 280se. Iirc we've also had his van up on it and its rated 2 tonne.
