Due to family illness I have to give up my workshop and regrettably part with my Renault 19 16v cabriolet. The car itself when I bought it was one of the best examples I have ever seen and since owning it I have replaced nearly every part on it.
New disks, pads, bearings, driveshafts, suspension, sensors, ICV, whole front end painted, new wings, alloys reconditioned, ABS sensors, full exhaust system etc...
There is absolutely no rot on this car or rust anywhere. I bought the car with 60k from a dealership after an old lady "Val" had traded it in for a Mercedes. I have put another 20k on it since owning it and taken it to a lot of shows.
I had planned on turbocharging it so I had a Clio Williams engine sent off, had it fully rebuilt and the compression lowered but due to the family illness I have decided to knock it on the head. The engine is on eBay at the moment along with a few other bits I have collected.
I would like my car to go to an enthusiast who will look after it because there are not many in this condition and its a real head turner when out and about in it. I dread to eBay it then see it come up for breaking, I would rather take a drop in the price to know its going to be looked after.
Some of you may have seen it at French car show last year if you attended and I took it round the track a couple of times. If I had the space and time I would keep it, it's been with me a long time and I regret selling it.
At present the engine has been removed due to a slight rattle after the oil pump packed in, the car will need trailering away. I have everything there to put it back together.
I have also upgraded the speakers and components, the front end respray and alloys refurbed came to £900, the alloys are genuine Kahns 18in in Renault fitment (worth a fortune), the car is in extremely good condition. The roof is like new and interior is mint apart from a small tear in the side of the passenger seat where I leaned across to pick my mobile up off the floor and the stitching came away.
I am looking for £1000 ono I have spent triple that getting it to this condition. My mrs and the private number plate do not come with the car
The Reg of the vehicle is M848 CBY.
I will not break it up or sell anything separate, sorry.
This car is very well know across many Renault forums, RTOC, Retro Renault, Clio16v forum. Anyone who has seen this car will tell you it is a beauty.
