This is my second other Chevette project, its a 1978 4 door saloon which I have had about a year now, has been on the road as a 1256cc but it was a little "boring" as an everyday car so I am upgrading it a little when I had first done a mini resto on it (still 1256cc) Under the bonnet now, MX5 1.6 16v........not a massive power hike but much better Hopefully be on the road over the next few weeks....................he says!

MX5 lumps are getting into all sorts of cars these days.
I love your Chevette, it makes me regret bidding on one on Ebay a couple of weeks before I bought my Polo. Lovely cars. I preffer the saloons to the hatchbacks too.

not much cutting needed but brake servo and master cylinder had to be changed clutch is now hydraulic so master cylinder had to fitted and pedal modified. gearbox selector shafts and housing shortened. mx5 wiring loom had to be remade and spliced into the chevette loom. rear axle upgrade to a manta a unit. calibra turbo front calipers complete radiator swap and install electric fan. -40 tjmotorsport springs all round. low and high pressure fuel pumps and swirl pot in the boot. front anti roll bar lowering kit. thats all i can think of at the minute! it started for the first the other night which was a relief lol. i will add some pics when i get chance

Its done..........well still loads of little jobs to do but its finally on the road, its maiden voyage was a 140 mile round trip to the VBOA weekend at Billing......... Thanks to StevieH from the Chevette owners group for the pics. It just needs a full body respray to finish it off!

That is THE bestist everist chevette ive seen. Perfect in my eyes. Is the new colour slightly different from the original? Looks alittle more orange?

The colour was mixed to the VIN plate colour code, I think because its 2K paint it makes the metallic more prominent, the original paint was very flat and covered in small rust blisters hence the reason for going back to bare metal. I am very pleased with how it turned out
