Googling for some info on my Weber/Edelbrock 500 4-barrel carb, I found these fake Hilborn injection 'covers'... I reckon they look trick...but as it's just a very expensive carb' cover is it just a bit naff like stick-on Brembo caliper covers etc ? Full story here : alsblowers.comWhat do you lot think?

I kind of like them, they could look real cool. there's a blue prefect that runs them, I don't like them on that, they don't fit the style IMO. besides that I don't like the owner. its up to you whether you like them enough to stick them through your bonnet

I suppose at the end of the day, it only take s one smart ar$e to shout "fake" and get the pee takers on side. you can imagine it; "why didn't you get a proper fi system" etc. probably because only 0.03% of the world wide population can afford "the real thing". theres always going to be jokers about, but on a rover p6 with a mild 3.5 and a straight front axle it might work. although it'd be criminal to allow the carb parts (like the electric choke gubbins that protrude out the side) to be on show above the bonnet line. that would be asking for it. how much are those dummies, out of interest? probably about a zillion times more than a nice looking k&n flow control home brewed version using amal ram pipes FTW

hhmmmm, tis expensive for a decoration. but would probably buy only 10% of the kinsler kit in the pic I posted. if you want the "look" but can't stretch to do it proper, it could offer a happy medium. if it was cheaper it'd be good for a laugh ;D like the nitemares "humbersaurus" with the pinto camwheel through the bonnet to look like a blower
