Ive been pottering on with the chevanne, getting it fit for the road (again) Did the head gasket, changed the rad (which leaked as soon as it warmed up after the head job) Usual service items (oil, filters, plugs, points+condenser, gearbox!)
couple of rack boots and arb bushes (saxo ones fit)
Headlight adjusters were a pain, but I sorted some, looks much better now!
://i88Did the along the axle brake pipes cos they looked a bit dodgy, then (of course) the brakes wouldn't bleed off. Changed the MC for the one on the spare car, and the front brake pipe that broke while I was changing the MC. Nrakes up, but pedal spongy....
spot the bulging flexihose...
in case you are wondering why the trailing arm is unbolted, don't worry, I'm getting to it!
I decided to get clever and tidy up the stereo wiring, so out came the seats and up with the carpet. This is what I found....
Welded up the front NS well first, rot was right into the outrigger so i had to cut loads away.
rear NS is still (mostly) solid, although you can see in the pics the paint is just falling off. seems the inside of the floor got one quick blowover with white, no primer, so I'm starting to see why these things are getting so rare....
The OS rear is really bad, the whole area is thin enough to push a screwdriver through (looked fine from below, though)
Trailing arm mount is really scary!
more in a mo, I've got to put the kettle on
