Some of you might remember the inner wing repair I had to carry out last year on my Monza.
Well I`ve got it all to do again
To this one ;D
This very nice monza belongs to Andyace from the Twomas and Opel Enthusiasts forum. He dropped it off a long long time ago now (mid january) and I am finally ready to start on it. Been delayed due to work and also my discovery which should have took 2 weeks and actually took nearer 6
On first glance the car seems pretty immaculate and unmarked.
However when I finally got the bonnet open I was greeted with this
doesnt look good
Here is a small vid I took on my phone showing the amount off movement of the inner wing just when rocking the car
And just to show how far out the strut actually is
I used this brace on my monza last year. It holds the strut tops in the correct positions using measurements I received from Bstardchild and Derek from GM6 (once again thanks to both of them)
In this firat pic the brace is bolted to the driver side strut and with the car on the ground the strut is measuring 75mm away from the holes in the brace
the second pic has the car jacked up and its moved closer by an inch
Just to remind you this is an MOT`ed car and Andy drove around 300 mile to get to my house
So with the assistance of my body ram
Its now in its correct position
Heres another good couple of pics showing how much teh strut has moved.
Before
After
So tomorrow I will get the front end Stripped and start cutting out the rot.
Hopefully there will still be a bit of monza left when I finish
