Mk1 VW Jetta
1.5 engine
rare blue interior, in good shape (rear mint mk1 bench to replace worn fabric)
starts, stops runs and drives under own power
last mot expired Dec 12 due to illness, it has NOT failed an mot
no previous welding on the sills that I can see
inner sills (inside doors etc) are rot free and in good shape
door bottoms are again in good shape
original Regatta Blue paint
been in same family from new
loads of s/h and receipts
last 11 mot's
super super original and not messed with in any way
owned from new by the same family!!
================================================
Will need MOT.
My mate has had it on the ramps at his garage and can see a patch on the rear sills both sides approx 3" that will need welding and the driver side turret has two 5p holes in it. none are big jobs for a diy welder but I want to be honest and say what i've discovered so far
MOT has simply lapsed, previous year there was an advisory for crusty seatbelt anchorage but not a fail
Had a very small engine fire at some point, bonnet took the brunt. few engine leads replaced and it runs as it should again, all replaced by previous owner.
Laquer peel on the bootlid
Overall a very presentable project, priced to sell quickly for what is now becoming quite a rare car. I think they are finally getting the kudos they deserve after many years of being shunned/scrapped/broken for parts
I originally bought this to break for parts, I have another mk1 jetta and intended on keeping various parts. tbh this is far too good with far too much character and history to destroy. I'd much rather someone put their stamp on it and keep another Jetta alive.
I then decided I was gonna slam it, cool wheels and run as is, true rat style.
Then I saw Kadettman's mk1 Cav and was like oooohhh, hence the jetta being moved on quickly
I have a ton of pics (mainly from someone dicking me about asking for EVERY inch of the car be photo'd then let me down grrrr) here's a few to get a flavour, ask for any more and i'll happily email them over
Its in Doncaster, can view most any days and I've absolutely NOTHING to hide with this sale.
more pics when p/bucket plays
