1997 MK3 VW GOLF GTI 2.0 8V - £750 O.N.O.
12 Months MOT
6 Months Tax
98200 miles (this may increase as it is in daily use)
Oxfordshire
3 Door Hatchback, Green, Petrol, Manual, cloth interior, sun roof, electric windows and mirrors, front/passenger airbags, immobiliser, CD/radio/MP3 Connection, spare wheel.
This car's a great runner, drives very smoothly with a nice exterior and interior with barely, if any rust at all. This car has served me well as a commuter but also great for longer journeys to the coast. The engine/car seems to have been well looked after by previous owners and I have plenty of MOT certificates and work receipts/paperwork. The car still pulls well for it's age but please bear in mind it is just the 8v. The car comes equipped with working AUX input for MP3 players and charging ports in the glove compartment for iphones etc along with a neatly wired in (by the previous owner) wireless bluetooth adapter which works with iPhones and most other phones. All the electrics work well, including windows, sunroof, heaters and lights.
I have recently taken the car to get it MOT'd and had the following work done:
Front Offside Window Wiper
Front Nearside Trackrod End
Front Offside Trackrod End
Offside Front to Rear Brake Pipe
Nearside Rear Brake Pipe
Nearside Front Lower Ball Joint
Offside Rear Tyre
Offside Rear Brake Hose
New CAT (Catalytic converter)
All the work that had to be done was all age related due to general wear and tear.
There are a few minor issues with the car which I will now list as there's not much worse than viewing a car and finding any nasty suprises:
The alternator is a bit whiny when the car is idle or at low revs.
One of the belts is a bit noisy for the first 10-20 seconds after ignition in the mornings.
The exhaust or heat shielding is a bit rattly and needs tightening
Toward the rear of the car the roof lining is slightly saggy.
The sausage before me had some broken 6x9s in the parcel shelf so, unfortunately, this has two cut-outs.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any queries and if you need any more information or pictures I'd be happy to do what I can provide these, thanks!
