Here is my BMW 328i Coupe.
I bought this car in August last year as a rolling project, and so far have done lots of small, and some major work as well......
Initial work required when I bought the car included:
-New thermostat
-New top mounts all round
-Re-con passenger electric window mechanism
-New brake switch.
It was due it's MOT last month and failed on a rubber flexible brake hose on the N/S/F disc and ineffective handbrake. It also had a slipping clutch. The car went in for some work, and £700 later had had:
-New flexible brake hoses front and rear
-New handbrake shoes
-New clutch
-New solid brake lines to O/S/F and rear.
-New battery
The car now has a years MOT which takes it up to the 19th May 2014
The car has a very good service history file, which is generally reflected in the good overall mechanical condition it is in. I have covered just shy of 10,000 miles since buying it in August, and it has been brilliant. It has done a few 600+ mile trips to the West country, along with regular use back and forth to Manchester and Warrington from Chester. It just does what is asked of it without complaint. It easily returns high 30's on a good run and low 30's the rest of the time. The performance is as you would expect from a 328, great acceleration and lovely cruising manners.
The bodywork is ok, but it is a 16 year old car. The rear arches have some rust, and there is a touch on the right hand sill towards the rear. The left hand rear quarter has also had paint at some point and this can be seen in bright light. The bonnet is also a very slightly different shade to the rest of the car. It is by no means passed its best, but I just want to be honest.
The interior benefits from having a slightly upgraded stereo with 6 disc CD changer which works well. The seats are leather and in a slightly funky blue colour, almost retro, but in good condition with age related patina, but no rips or tears.
One thing I must point out is that the alloys in the pictures are not the alloys on the car anymore. At present it is running Style 24 alloys, the ones found on the M3. The front are fakes and pretty naff. The rears are genuine BMW MOTORSPORT items with the correct identification numbers and 8.5x17 in size, but in poor condition. The tyres are nothing special.
I also have available a set 4x genuine staggered style 24 M3 alloys that have been recently refurbished, owing me £350. These are genuine MOTORSPORT alloys in staggered fitment. I am going away from BMW's for a while, so am happy to offer these to the buyer for £200 on top of the asking price above. I will also sell these separately if anyone is interested? One of the alloys is pictured to show how they look.
So there you have it. Keep it on the road if you like, or use it as a track car with MOT, the choice is yours. I am flexible on the price as well.
