I have been enjoying this site for some time and after a long time, something is happening with my car so its time to start a thread.
This Daimler Coupe has been in my Dads Garage since 1991 when he took it of the road and replaced with a brand new Citroen AX due to running cost. My Dad had all ways looked after the car and it had a new wing, new sills and new webasto roof in the time he owned it, about 5/6 years if i remember. It was my Uncles car before that and my Uncles Boss had it from new.
The idea was that he would restore it once he retired. That didn't happen (he retired 10 yrs ago, and has been to busy gradening!! lol) s it sat in the garage and it became mine about 7 years ago but stayed in his Garage until he threatened to sell it to someone if i didn't pick i tup.
We tried getting it running but as the tanks were so sludgged up we had no luck.
I Trailered it to a lock up nearer my home and now its time try and get it back on the road. its of to a local Jag specialist tomorrow to see what needs to be done,
As it stands it clearly needs drivers floor, both rear lower quarters, front valance and crossmember.
I will try and get some pics up tomorrow once its in the garage.
I have spent the last 2O years dreaming of what I will do to thic car, I have considered XJR Engine and running gear or keeping it as a classic, or dropping it a few inches, Hope to get it MOT worthy at first though and take it from there!

The coupe is a rare beast and go for good money when in good nick.
I would keep as original as poss, maybe give it a little lowering treatment but not much more.
Get some pics up!

Yeh Thomas, they are pretty rare, what ever I do it will be very subtle visually, lowering is definate though, maybe get the wheels banded. Got some pics here, but having problems getting them on here, it say the forum hasnt got enough space!?? i have made sure the pic os not to big, less than 1MB

I love these cars - one of the best looking shapes. I have a few of them in project status. One is going to be getting an XJR engine as well with a manual box. Here's some inspiration thedrivenman.com/images/KrygerLarge.jpg

i have considered so many wheel options and the asteroids was one of them actually rasta, not sure if they are to big though, I may go for polished 6 cylinder xjr wheels like on this 4 door, it may be the silver bodywork that does it but they really seem to work, they may actually be chromed as well not sure! imageshack.us/photo/my-images/194/daimler5.png/ if not maybe band the standard wheels to give it a meaner look!
